How much are you looking to spend? Lookslike those electric ones are at least $2k, at which point I'd buy a cheap gas one for half that.

How small is your yard? You may end up not saving much time while spending money.

For a small yard i wouldn’t mess with a riding mower. Seems like more trouble than it’s worth to be honest.

If you want to drop 2 grand on it, why not pay someone like $30 every two weeks or so to cut it?

I had a $900 gas Murray. Couldn’t kill it. I ended up giving it to my brother in 05 when we bought a bigger place. It’s still running, though he hardly ever uses it.

An electric riding mower?

You might as well paint your house with big letters: "SMALL PENIS LIVES HERE"

Baw I’m cutting my yard twice a week right now. That’s $240 a month

Why don't you get a wide deck push mower? Cub Cadet has a 33" deck for $1400.

Unless you are buying a zero turn mower, you will spend more time on a riding lawn mower than a push mower for small yards and the grass won’t look anything as good. Both the mowers I posted are around $1k and if you are looking to spend $2k like the ryobi, you can get a 30” zero turn and be able to do your yard super quick

I have a similar Murray that my parents had for about 20 years.

Had a newer MTD that started falling apart on me so they gave me their Murray.

Still mows just fine.

As a financial planner by profession, it blows my mind how no one ever considers the cost benefit analysis in this way relative to so many other expenses.

Those are great for medium yards, but if you have a small yard with landscaping, you’ll find yourself spending just as much time as you would pushing the yard, having to go in reverse constantly and going back and mowing spots you missed while turning it. Plus leaving tracks in the yard if the ground is wet.

My old man has an aluminum block Honda that’s older than I am.

Thing still runs like it’s brand new, 31 years later.

Well you just set yourself back

Ryobi makes some of the best battery-operated lawn and power tools on the market. Commercial guys even use them
