Stihl or Echo are good gas models. When I replace my Echo I’m going battery operated.

I have had an Echo 58 Volt. Battery-operated for about 5 years and it has been the best I’ve ever owned. I typically blow carport, driveway, sidewalks, and a big patio with mine and have never used over half a charge. The best thing about it is the 145 MPH wind it blows! It is not cheap, but I’ll bet it is comparable in cost to gasoline-powered and a whole lot less maintenance.

Just got the EGO battery powered one from Lowes and can't imagine messing with a gas one again.

Been using Husqvarna BT150 for about 4 years. Hard to complain about the power for the price. I have a ton of trees and it gets the job done.

Thank for the comments... plenty of rain up here in northeast Ohio, still leaning towards gas as I don’t know if I trust battery’s vs some heavy wet leaves.

I have an EGO LB6504 - it's a cordless 650 CFM beast that I bought primarily for detailing the cars. Great as a leaf blower as well, of course. 15 min battery life on turbo (no need to use turbo when blowing leaves), but much, much longer even on high. It is a home product I would definitely highly recommend.

I have both the Ryobi handheld and larger backpack battery powered blowers.

No complaints. Both work for easily 30 or more minutes on full blast.

Would recommend.

I'm using a Makita and it doesn't matter wet or dry. They just don't blow as far when dry but they still leave both the deck and drive.

Are Ohio leaves are tougher than Alabama hardwoods?

Just got one of these this week and it pretty badass DCBL772B but if you don’t already have Dewalt tool it could be a little pricey by the time you buy a battery and charger.

I've had a corded Craftsman for over 25 years. It's great for smaller work. I'd never go gas for that tool.

Echo PB255-LN is a solid choice for a lightweight handheld unit. 354CFM @ 191mph is more power than an EGO 530CFM @ 110mph, certainly better for wet leaves. Stihl BG56 would be pretty similar in performance and weight and right now are on sale for about $40 less than the 255. The Stihl BG86 is a step up and will probably be my next choice if my Echo PB250-LN ever dies. My last PB250 lasted 15+ years so I'm good for a long while yet.

I have a Redmax EBZ8000 that I've had over 10 years. Starts second or third pull every time. Dang thing won't die. I saw the new Echo 9010 model. Most powerful backpack on the market. Check it out.

The best gas leaf blower for the money in my opinion is the

Hitachi Model #
RB24EAP, 24-cc 2-cycle 170-MPH 441-CFM Handheld Gas Leaf Blower

This little commercial grade lightweight beast used to be sold by Lowes and Amazon. They are either both sold out right now or maybe it's no longer available. Read some of the 1595 5-star feedback on the above link from Lowes where I bought mine (I think in 2012). I still use it a lot in my large wooded yard every year. It's really powerful for such a small lightweight blower and easy and reliable to crank. It came with a 7-year warranty to boot.

I found it on Amazon ( LINK), but its currently unavailable there too.

My gut feeling is its no longer available.
