Storm Window protection

Anyone heard of a product that you can apply to windows that protects it from shattering from wind related events?
Not sure who makes it but I think 3m makes something .

Security/Safety window film. Lots of companies make it but I'd go with 3M if I'm already spending the money.

I would suggest that you call your insurance company and ask them rather than taking the advice of well-meaning people on this board since you haven't given any info needed to know whether an insurance company would accept a film.
