My wife (no pics) and I have been sleeping on one for over 25 years now. Ours is a pre sleep number bed. We love it, and if it ever fails we'll get another one.

We’ve had one for at least 10 years and love it. After trying others and wasting a few grand over the prior years, if this one dies it will be replaced with another Sleep Number.

I haven’t shopped them in a decade but the guts at that point were pretty much the same. The differences were the level of additional plushness.

I love the ability to keep it firmed up so there’s never a sag or through. It’s pretty much as flat and level as the day we assembled it.

I had one for 12 years. A few months ago got the news one with he ability to move the head or foot position. Absolutely love this bed and it's versatility. Yes they are expensive but they hold up and do offer the ability to customize to your needs so IMO they are worth it.

2 years ago I went from a Temperpedic to a Sleep Number. I didn't want to spend a ton of money and be unhappy so I bought the $1K queen model with two individual zones. I also added a 3" topper from Walmart. This has worked well.

I really like it and am thinking about moving this one to a guest room and upgrading to a nicer version for me.

The only type of mattress where you can have a different firmness on each side.

My wife's side is 100

My side is 30

We could never agree on a mattress otherwise.

I have an imitation sleep number.

Actually no, it's the hardest setting.

She's a tiny little thing, but wants a mattress as hard as a sheet of plywood.

17 years total on my imitation sleep number (Boyd Specialty Sleep).

I have changes out the air bladders twice under warranty.
First time about 10 years, second time just recently.

I like it because if my back starts to hurt, I can go up or down on the firmness for a few nights until it goes back to normal.

Mine has a 3" memory foam layer on top of the air bladders.

I don't have a set but my inlaws do. They're not impressed at all.

I slept on one in a hotel once , I thought it was a glorified air bed . Got drunk and passed out across the bed in different settings and woke up in so much pain

We’ve had the P5 in a split king with adjustable head and foot for about 4-5 years. At the time of purchase I was having nightly back pain. Never had it again since sleeping in this bed. When we were mattress shopping, I thought I needed a firm mattress. But after sleeping on the sleep number, I’ve come to find out I sleep better with a 35 setting. We really like the adjustable base if watching TV in bed at night.

This is my problem, we looked into them and I love the concept but at the end of the day, it’s an expensive air mattress. I can’t get past this.

Ours has never felt like an air mattress. I suppose because the bladders aren't stretchy and are tightly contained within the foam structure. It’s just a stable firm ( in my case) bed with some pillow top/foam top layers. In all fairness the other style mattresses are glorified boxes of springs or kitchen sponges if you simplify them in that way.
