I salvaged an A. Hayes Town cypress statue niche (with statue and little metal plate noting he built it). Looks nearly identical to one in image. Problem is, a few of the boards are very rotten and disintegrating. I hate to mess with it but also hate to let it fall apart if I can manage to carefully restore it by replacing one side and one bottom board. Any ideas on where I could pick up some scrap aged cypress to try and match in the BR area?

Cajun Cypress up in Baker used to have tons of old cypress, as well as fresh cut. They're good people. They'll even cut it for you.

I know lumber is hard to come by right now, not sure what their current supply is like.

Antique Woods of Louisiana (out of Sunset) has a location off of Wooddale Court in BTR. Tell them you have an A. Hayes Town statue (they will appreciate it) that you are trying to restore. They should have some scraps that will. match.

I have plenty of old cypress from an old house that I tore down. I'd be happy to give you some for this project.

Go get a cedar fence board. They will age in no time and look the same. Would be cheaper
