Need to replace my roof. Considering metal roofing, if I can convince my wife to ignore the looks (she doesn't like the look), due to my life expectancy and the roof's. Has anyone in central Louisiana had a Metal Roof installed, if so what installer did you use and what was your experience? Any drawbacks to a metal roof?

You'll find cost a drawback to a metal roof.

Unless you are talking standing seam metal, a metal roof isn’t a lifetime roof and will require upkeep including new screws when the gaskets wear out and depending on the pitch and design of the roof, the roof can have a greater chance of leaking than a traditional roof

Thanks Wick. Going to need a new roof in a couple years and there is no way I could take on that project.
