Get the green poison you put in the little house that only a rat or mouse can enter.

They love that stuff. After they eat all the poison, they still come to the plastic box and chew on it. They even chewed out the metal posts that hold the poison blocks, so I need a new box.

Get a large victor rat trap.

1 nail it to piece of plywood about 1' square.

Where the snap comes down, nail some finishing nails around the perimeter about 1/2" apart and trim them down about 3/8"

Bait trap with peanut butter under the trigger.

Put it up against a wall.

I don't have rats but my Uncle has an outdoor shed next to a cane field and that's how he gets them. It also works to catch squirrels.

I had one in my shop once. Shot it with a 22. The bastard just looked at me and walked away. I just said, you win.
I did find his body a couple days later.
