Small lot that is very sloped. Looking to retire my 20+ year old Craftsman. What is a good push mower for $350 ballpark?

slightly out of your budget, but I've had success with the Honda self-propelled (model HRX217HZA).

Can't go wrong with any that has a Honda engine. I don't know if there's one at the price point though.

Two months ago, I bought this Honda and I can say with certainty that it’s the best lawn mower I’ve ever owned or used. It’s $379 and worth every penny.

I have the Husqvarna 7021P with a honda motor, but if I had to do it again I'd buy the self propelled honda mentioned above. Honda motor is great, but it gets tough pushing it sometimes

When I first moved in my house 10 years ago this is the one I bought. I still have it and it runs great..My neighbor is on his third lawnmower and the 3rd one he finally got a Toro. The old bastard won't admit I was right about Toro's quality.

On the Cratsman, never heard of that.

I have same Honda Walter White has ,great mower.I previously had Honda commercial mower with hydrostatic transmission.Had it 25 years, motor still started and ran fine but wheels wore out, muffler falling off and blade clutch sticking.Figured I had got my money’s worth out of it.Interstingly, new one was less than 1/2 of what the old one cost buy I didn’t need commercial mower any more.

Personal Pace

If you have a sloped yard personal pace may frustrate you when turning around.

I have the Craftsman GCV160 with the Honda motor and it's great.

I’d suggest any self propelled with a Honda motor. You’ll never have to pull more than twice to start it, otherwise it’s broken.

That said I have the Honda HRR216, the model in which the engine continues to run when you disengage the drive and the engine does not die as part of the safety feature. You pay more that function, but it’s worth it when you stop frequently to move things out of your way, etc unless you like having re-start the mower every time you stop and disengage the drive.

That's the truth. The auto-choke feature is magnificent.

Costco Jonesred AWD lawn mower

Right at 350, just a rebadged Husqvarna with a Honda motor. Good price with 50 off now and AWD

That's what I was thinking...Jonsered self-propelled at Costco is $349 with a Honda engine...but the reviews are so-so. I know Honda mowers were bulletproof back in the day...but it looks like they are cranking out engines for so many other manufacturers, I wasn't sure if the quality was still there.

I was looking at this exact mower this weekend and was thinking about pulling the trigger, but thought I'd check to see what experience others had before doing so. My father had a Jonsered trimmer that was pretty indestructible...thanks for the confirmation.

It won't. The personal pace is by far the best self propelled throttle system on the market. Nothing else is remotely as good.

Mine is 15 years old and still perfect.

I have a Husqvarna with a Honda engine rear wheel drive. It works great in the front yard that is flat, but my backyard has a three foot slope. Not the best in terms of pushing, because I feel like the self propelled makes it harder to push across the slope or up the slope. Ended up getting a John Deere riding mower from my dad that I use now. I still use the Husqvarna to cut the spots in my yard I can't easily get to with the riding lawn mower. Starts up on first or second pull every time though. I've only used non ethanol gas and never changed oil. Going in five years old now. Also the bagging feature kind of blows, I get to half bag full and it stops bagging.
