i got an estimate this week:

Pipe change out at 10 a ft
Stainless steel hangers at $20 each
a 50’ repair was right at $7k

Is this for residential? Do you have any attic/ crawl space at all? If so you can likely re run with Pex. My parents had their entire house re run with Pex for $400/ fixture plus the cost of drywall repair. They brought 5 plumbers over and knocked it all mostly out in one evening from about 4-10pm.

Was going to ask this as well. I had to repipe some copper, in a downstairs bathroom on slab. Pex was way cheaper and an awesome option. I also had a manifold installed, so each fixture has a shutoff.

This would be for tunneling to repair area that has root growth in pipe. Luckily it is only 15 ft or less. Quote was $500 for hole then $3250 which seems high based on what y’all are saying. Problem is I don’t have it mapped out or anything so when I call other places they don’t want to quote anything unless they do video inspection first. I don’t want to pay for another inspection then get the same quote

4" pipe? Have you looked into relining/repairing the pipe with an epoxy liner? Youtube has some videos how it's done without tearing up the slab.
