Looking for any tips or advice on how to plant these. I’m looking to plant them 4 ft apart from each other and 2ft off the fence line. Does this sound about right or does anyone have a different recommendation? Thanks

I'm literally looking out the window at mine right now. They are spaced about 36" apart, and equally distant from the property line. If you're gonna put them 4' apart, it will take several years for them to fill in the space between. And they're going to grow over that property line pretty quickly, so is your neighbor okay with the hedge? Find out, bc if they're not interested in the hedge encroaching onto their yard, they may trim agressively, leaving you with an ugly, assymetrical hedge that isn't as thick as it should be.

I'd put them at least 36" from the property line. Mine are planted that far from neighbor's tall fence, and I still have to trim them off of his fence to keep him from bitching about the flowers falling onto his patio in the spring.

36" on center is the answer to your question

You could plant them staggered to create the privacy hedge vs, planting them in a straight line.

Thanks for the answers. I’m going to plant them in a straight line because I have no idea how staggered would turn out. I need them to grow really tall to block out neighbors. Will consider doing 36in off the fence line too.
