So I've had someone take measurements and talk design but now I can't get them to call me back w/ a quote. I understand everyone is busy but I'd like to explore some different options. I'm looking to tie into my existing roof and cover my existing patio. Also build two counter areas for an outdoor kitchen. Can anyone recommend someone in the BR area who they've had a good experience with-Thanks

They charge ridiculous prices and we have trouble having them give us quotes stealing our money. its amazing.

It’s frustrating, but be glad to find out someone isn’t dependable from the start and move on. There’s no reason someone who comes out to look at a job shouldn’t provide an estimate or follow up with a text saying, “sorry to waste your time, but I’m too busy to take this right now.” If it’s that hard to get a quote, look out when the work starts.

You’ll find someone who is professional enough to do the job and be responsive. Just be patient.

Yep. Started looking for someone last may and signed a contract at the end of July on our project. I was alright paying a bit more for our contractor who is extremely responsive and a good guy.

Just curious, and I am not representing myself as someone who has any knowledge on this. Aside from the plumbing, is the construction difficult? Doesn't look like it, and I have a 12' section I am thinking of framing and doing myself.

If your comfortable tying into your roof, I don’t believe. We have easy access to gas, electricity, and water. The contractor mentioned that the existing patio probably wasn’t thick enough to handle the weight of the roof so he’d have to cut holes and put a deeper foundation where the columns would be.

I had to pull the family connections to get a contractor here to fix a water intrusion issue in the last month. He reminded me daily that I was a break-in solely due to the Aunt card being played. Then his floor guy went MIA, had to get someone he’d never used recommended by his painter (who ended up being as awesome as I’ve ever worked with). All his subs are dealing with lack of people and supply and price of materials.

By the way, this was the impetus for me to start shopping insurance. The State Farm Claims department only has a checkbox for NO on their forms.

Call John at Blake construction and design. he probably won;t take a job sub $50K, but the dude does great work and is very creative. All contractors are having a real tough time with finding help.
