I've got two bird feeders that I would fill every 5-6 days. Since Ida, very few birds are showing up. Where did they go?

I’ve noticed similar. Had a few visitors last few days.

They are at my house eating maggots out of my garbage can.
I bought 25 lbs. of shrimp last Saturday, peeled them to put them in the freezer and made a couple gallons of shrimp stock with the heads and shells.
Out to the garbage they went but now there is only a 1 day a week garbage pickup in N.O. and my next scheduled date is this coming Saturday.
Man, it's ripe at the curb right now. No deodorizer is going to take care of that stench.

This happens every fall. Birds move. They find other food sources. My once busy feeder now just has the resident cardinals. That will change soon, as native sparrow species make their way down.

molting season, they tend to hide until they are done.
