1 - which kind? They make them where the slats operate and they make them where the entire shutter opens and shuts (on hinges like traditional operating shutters).
2 - what are you trying to accomplish?
I briefly looked into them (where the slats operate) for an exterior back porch but haven’t decided what to do yet.

We're in the process of getting quotes on bahama style shutters in the Lafayette area. Looking at both fixed and adjustable styles. Have an appt this coming Thursday.

Entire shutter opens and closes. Around $4k for 5 sets in the front, including install, hardware, etc. Seems like they'd last forever though.

First place I called quoted me $1,460 for a 30" x 70" window for the fixed shutter.
