Time for a new mattress. I had tempur pedic and my back hated it, and it was hot and sweaty. Are any of the online mattresses worth a damn? Seems weird to buy without trying.

Most have free returns. Seems like a huge PITA to do that though, suckers are heavy.

We bought a Casper through Costco about a year ago, no complaints.

Nectar is like sleeping on your driveway. Miserably uncomfortable. They wanted me to donate it to return it, no one around here takes them so I just wrote it on a goodwill slip to get my money back and still have the damn thing in my attic.

Any reason your back hated it?
Previous injury?
How big a boy are ya?
Why you ask?
I have a previous back injury from a car wreck 12yrs ago & im a big boy myself. Had a temperpedic my back hated as well. Bought a tuft & needle bed based on reviews & it WAS great. As I said I’m a big boy and most of the memory foam (bed in a box) are not made for us. Finally I told my dr about my continued back pain, he suggested a firm bed. Went and bought a Stearns & Foster Estate firm bed & haven’t looked back. Yea it was $3000 but that’s a small price to pay to ease my back pain.

Def not big, nor a boy. Spouse and I added together might just break 300 lbs on a fat day. Hated memory foam as it wasn’t supportive enough. It aggravated my back pain caused by a spinal curvature and mild bulging lumbar disc. This was abt 6-8 years ago....today, better half has a herniated disc and also is uncomfortable on a too soft surface.

Foam was also way, way too warm for us. Mattress didn’t breathe and I resorted to leaving it unmade or it would feel clammy, hours later. I’m really gun shy abt these nouveau foam bed in a box things.

Cost is no object, if it doesn’t annoy his back or mine.

We had a tempur pedic and my back hated it also. We got a bed from Brooklyn Bedding that has been working well for the last few years. It isn’t a sink in ahhh it feels so comfortable kind of bed when you first lay on it, but apparently that’s exactly why my back needed it. I don’t wake up in pain anymore.

I did a crap ton of research on the bed in a box companies when we were looking and at the time Brooklyn bedding was the only company that manufactured their beds in their own factory which I thought was more impressive than anything else.

We have a Purple in our bedroom and a Casper in a spare bedroom. Bought them both intending to return whichever we didn’t like. I prefer the Purple but everyone that sleeps in the guest room loves the Casper, so we just kept it. Would recommend either depending on your preference. The Purple isn’t quite as firm as the Casper but still has plenty of support.

I’m a huge fan of tuft and needle. Was very skeptical and now I recommend to anyone who asks.

How’d you get a mattress in your attic?

Got a queen Serta for our guest room from Sams. Came as one of those "mattress in a box" type setups (my first, so I was a little skeptical).

Hands down the most comfortable mattress I've ever bought. I'll take naps in the guest room now

Tried Nectar. Tried Serta. Tried Purple. All free trials. Returned all of them (donated the nectar to a battered womens shelter). Ended up going with a Saatva. Fricking incredible. Had it about a year now and still can't wait to go to sleep every night.

My mattress sucks and I can't wait to go to sleep every night. Although that may be more a product of having small kids that don't appreciate silence.

Now that's a level of research I appreciate. I'm looking at the Saatva right now. I like the hybrid foam/coil, and the additional lumbar support. Did you guy the comfort firm or the firm?

Have managed to rule out the all foam, bed in a box style due to insufficient support. Tested a few out.....thanks to friends who let me lay in their beds! LOL.

My wife had a Leesa sleep in her old place, which she loved, however I was a few pounds over the 225 pound recommended weight limit, so I didn't have much support in it.

We now own a sleep number and it's amazing.
