We are about to update all appliances and was wondering which brands to stay away from and which ones are the best without breaking our bank.

I can tell you that my experience with LG has not been pleasant. We had front loader washer and dryer and a fridge and they've all been junk.

I have say I have good luck with Whirlpool kitchen appliances and they lasted many years with without issue or needed repairs, and I say this knowing full well that I seriously doubt Whirlpool appliances made today are likely as not as well made and won’t last as long as the appliances that I already in my house.

What about Bosch? I really like the look of their appliances. Reviews seem to be pretty decent

Bosch isn't great. The dishwasher is very quiet but not great at cleaning full loads unless everything is thoroughly pre-rinsed. My parents got a Bosch fridge that has had drawer parts break then develop a leak in the ice maker that would drip water under the bottom fridge drawer and freeze it closed and eventually cause the doors to be unable to close tightly.

We have moved exclusively to GE for appliances.

I haven’t replaced one since we moved to them 10 years ago.

My Bosch cleans my dishes amazingly well and I don’t pre-rinse and I load in way more dishes, pots, pans, and junk than I should. All avenues for water spray seem blocked and it still cleans my dishes spotless.

Agree: my Bosch dishwasher is nothing short of amazing. It easily is the best one I've ever owned, and it definitely has the best designed racks/supports. It holds way more than my last two GEs, and the KitchenAid before those.

Based on the dishwasher performance, I looked at Bosch fridges, but they're all bottom freezer and I prefer a side by side.

We have whirlpool and we love our fridge, stove (gas), DW (48 db) and MW all stainless. I got $200 credit from Home Depot to open a charge account at 0% for 12 months. Just pay it off before 12 months expire.

I would avoid Samsung and LG.

Our LG dishwasher went out after just a couple of years. Had a Bosch and it was a pretty good dishwasher until it had a leak that I could not fix.

We know have a Kitchenaide that has been great.

I would strongly recommend you avoid Electrolux Refrigerators. We had a built in and constantly had problems. Finally the compressor went out and it was going to be $2000 to "fix it" but the guy wouldn't guarantee that would actually work.
We replaced it with a GE Profile and have been pleased.

We have had 2 Jennair microwaves that have gone out in just a few years. Also have a GE now that's been going strong for 7 years or so.

We are mostly satisfied with our Frigidaire Professional line of appliances. My only complaint is the dishwasher leaving clean dishes soaking wet no matter which dry cycle you use

In laws got very nice Bosch double ovens that have been nothing but problems since day 1. Motherboard went out, took months to have fixed, screen still acts up. Would not recommend except for dishwashers. Their dishwashers are top rated everywhere. Will probably be my next dishwasher.

As for other appliances, I have had good luck with GE. Also had a mid tier LG gas range that we loved. It was the best deal price to performance wise I could find

If you are stupid enough to buy Samsung appliances I hope fire ants invade your house and do bad things to your private parts

I bought a GE range/oven on December 5th. Oven quit working Christmas Day. Had repair guys out three times. Each time they need a part which takes over a week to come in. Oven still broken as we speak.
