looking at getting a gas powered pressure washer-

what I want to use it for:

washing vehicles

washing house (painted brick exterior)

cleaning porches and outside furniture

cleaning driveway and sidewalk (badly stained)

here's the issue, to clean the sidewalk and house I know I should get a 3000 pound pressure, but can I use the 3K to wash furniture and vehicles?

You can. They all come with different tips that disperse the water differently, and one or two of them are suitable for vehicles. Mine is a 2800 psi and I use it on my cars every now and then with no problems.

Definitely, you just have to get a larger tip size to lower the psi.

You’ll be fine. They come with 4-5 different tips to help regulate the pressure/spray width. Just don’t get to close you won’t have an issue. Honda GX motor and Cat pump. Hydro-Quip in BR sells them.

Stand farther away from the house and vehicles. It’s pretty simple

It really depends on what type of tip you use. Most come with several (different degrees).

It varies the pressure. You wouldn't use a 0 degree tip on a car or furniture. The others should be fine.

They are usually color coded now.

And definitely get the attachment made for flat surfaces. Most of them are around $100 additional, but they make doing the driveway and deck soooooo much easier and quicker.

They want you to buy 2 separate pressure washers!

3000 psi can be used for anything. You’ll figure out the correct tips to use and distance to stand away pretty quickly.

Look at the gpm. You'll need a higher number, preferably 4 or 4.5, to do concrete especially with only 3000psi. If you want to use the spinner attachment you will definitely need the higher gpm.

Yeah, that sounds right, my dad sold pressure washers for years and I still remember him saying most of the ones he sold were 5 gpm.

Not sure the OP would need one like that though for what he is using it for.

Definitely use a different tip for furniture and cars. There are several pressure washers that have adjustable psi ranges too.

ETA: I would definitely invest in a surface cleaner attachment if you plan on doing your driveway.
