Crazy how quick it's growing right now.

What kind of grass? I’m seeing the same thing with my centipede lawn. Had several bare spots from trying to level it back in February and those have almost filled it.

My lawn in NOLA had gone over 2 weeks without a mow due to my being out of town, so it took me 3 hours to get it all done Saturday. Looked great during all the rain Sunday. Last night it looked like it could use a mow again, sigh... This is why I usually break down and pay someone to cut it in the summer. But it looks much better and has a lot less weeds when I do it.

every year in June through mid July I have to mow my yard every 5 days
it sucks
by the time August comes around, I'm ready for a drought to kill all my grass

I put down sod in spots back in early May. Didn’t cut my centipede lawn for 4 weeks while it grew it. My house looked like a foreclosure until it was cut last week.

Didn't mow before the storm. Since last Tuesday I'm shin-deep.

I am on Day 6 and don't think I can make it to Day 9. Forecast calls for 80% chance tomorrow here and my evening Thursday is booked with kids baseball practice.
It seems as if mowing is in the cards this evening for me.

Welcome to summer in Louisiana.

St. Aug. here. The grass really started growing like crazy the last 2 weeks. Prior to that, it was green, but not really tall or thick. Next time I cut, I'll have to raise the blade to my normal summer level.

I’m gonna raise mine to 3.5 after the next mow

Mowed mine last Thursday after work. It's been growing so fast, and coupled with predictions of 4-6" of rain with Cristobal, I mowed again on Saturday thinking it might be too wet to do anytime soon. Fortunately, only got about 1.5" of rain, but the grass looks like it will need to be cut again tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.
I really don't mind though. Cutting grass is one of those things that I can zone out and do and not have to think about other stuff.

I started wearing my noise cancelling headphones to mow. Don’t care how clunky they look. So much nicer for music and podcasts.

Same. Sometimes I can stretch it to 4. I put out some Miracle Gro Lawn Food to fill in some bare spots for a party last weekend. Now I have Jumanji growing in my back yard.
