I have a lot of hibiscus bushes (grew up in Hawaii, like the look). I would see quite a few Arizona Paper Wasps (see pic) in the bushes and had zero issues with caterpillars.
These wasps don't even nest around the house.

He convinces me to let him spray the hibiscus bushes with Neem oil. Well, it didn't kill the wasps but it ran them off. Now, 1/4 of the buds are being drilled by green caterpillars.

Manage your wasps and snakes. The Arizona Paper Wasps are smaller than most paper wasps and unless you get after the nest, are very non-aggressive.

Normally the wasps mind their own business and we get along. But that changes if you have kids playing in the backyard. Can you trust the wasps?

I’ve got hundreds of these wasps in my peas . They seem to do an excellent job of keeping unwanted worms and such away.
Very docile too.

Didn't you already do this? Are you in Arizona?

This is my wasp experience. I have no issues with them. They're pretty awesome in the garden from a predator point of view and pollination point of view. My toddlers and the wasps are at all out war, however. The wasps seem to be winning.

Yesterday, I got stung on the ankle by some kind of wasp. I spent the next half hour spraying wasp nests around my house. Problem solved…

I have hordes of a smaller parasitic wasps that attack June bug larvae in the yard. I never have had any June Bugs.

Looks like a guinea wasp to me. I like having king snakes and most spiders around, but I draw the line at wasps. Just too many painfully bad experiences with them to welcome their presence near my home.

I had no idea they ate caterpillars and worms until I noticed these last year. Whatever kind this is protects my rose bushes.

Now that you say that, I see the little “G” on its abdomen.

I had one pop me on the shoulder the other day. Tbh i hardly felt it.
Good thing to because I usually have some sort of reaction to most stings.
