What are the cause of this? Some are straight along the sidewalk, some are curve shapes in the yard.

Similar to the mole sign I’m seeing at the house.

Have you seen "Tremors"?
Just wait until they grow a bit.

Step on the area and see if it caves in pretty easy.

It does caves. But how does that ensure that the mole is gone?

this ^^^^^^

the grubs are the food source, get rid of them and the things feeding on them also leave.

if thats all you see it might just be bugs creating a new nest to live in. lots of bugs tunnel along just under the surface raising the dirt around the area like a roof over their pathways

Try scissor traps or poisoned worms first. It is most likely a mole. They are after grubs and worms. Grubs are bad and worms are good. If you use a subsurface insecticide then you’ll kill the worms too

It doesn’t. Moles have main tunnels and feeder tunnels. I’d try to use a spike trap on a main tunnel. To find a main tunnel, step on and collapse the tunnels you see. If you see a tunnel puffed up again, it’s likely a main tunnel. Put the spike trap on it.

Be prepared that the mole will still be alive when you dig it up after the spike trap gets it. They’re cute. Don’t let your kid see it. You’ll have to finish it off with a shovel or something to put it out if its misery.
