Nuke the whole thing to start over with seed.
Recommendations for something that will kill everything over a fairly large area?

Multiple doses of glyphosate. thelawnforum.com will have pretty much every answer to a question you could have.

I picked up a 40oz bottle of 50% glyphosate from Tractor Supply for $29. You should be able to take everything out with that. I usually mix it with a little dishsoap at about 1.4oz per gallon.

It crossed my mind, but some dumbfrick around here would call the fire department and/or police even if I just used a weed burner. It's not a huge area, so my 3 gallon pump sprayer should work fine.
Sounds like a glyphosate/2,4-D mix is what I'll want. I've already got a surfactant to add to the mix.

Will seed grow with that stuff in the soil though?

From what I understand glyphosate breaks down pretty quick.

Only other suggestion is add a little food coloring to your sprayer. Makes it easy to see where you sprayed. Plus it will all be gone soon anyways.

I just saw an advertisement for RM18 on Facebook. It claims that it starts killing grasses and weeds on contact with visible results in 12 hours. Not sure about it but I figured I would share.

Glyphosate will work. It binds tightly to the soil and you can seed as soon as you prep your soil. Kill everything. Run a sod cutter over the dead crap (not deep at all),rake it all up, put down seed, top dress and water.

I’m doing the same thing ..what is the best seed to grow quickly ? Not for long term because next year I’m going get my yard leveled with better drainage and lay sod. Just looking for something to grow quickly and give me a decent lawn for the summer.
