re: Landscape weeds
Good layer of mulch, hand pull, spot spray with glyphosate and pre-emergent herbicides like Gallery (isoxaben) and/or Dimension (dithopyr). Gallery is better on broadleaf weeds and Dimension on grassy weeds. Of course the pre-emergent herbicides don’t control perennial landscape bed weeds like nutsedge, oxalis, etc.

I used Eptam as well some years ago but I guess it's no longer labeled for home landscape use although it is still manufactured and available for commercial crop use.

re: Landscape weeds
I don't have a ton of landscape to deal with, so hand pulling them about once a week is the best thing I've found. When I stay on it, takes less than 5 minutes to look around and see if anything new has popped up.

But since I've started layering pine straw the weeds have been much fewer and much easier to pull. I had mulch at my previous house but won't be using anything but pine straw from now on.

Had fresh sod laid at my house and the landscape service was nice enough to also get rid of all the weeds in the built up flower/shrub bed in front of my house. I ended up laying landscape fabric over all the bare dirt and spread mulch over the top of that. Better be weed free for a while.
