Im due to put down some Milorganite now but have the thinning issue like OP which I treated with Talstar, disease X, and peat moss last week. Am I still good to put down Milorganite now?

You can put down Milorganite but if your grass is struggling and/or recovering I'd suggest something like a 20-20-10 fertilizer. Milorganite is great for greening of the lawn but it doesn't push growth.

I'm a lawn dope trying to learn on the fly here. Google doesn't bring back any results of in-store and I'd have to order it. Anything else I should look to put down?
Also- thoughts on laying the rest of the backyard sod sometime in September or October instead of now in the heat?

Have a 32-0-10 at the house already...would that suffice?

I get 20-20-10 from Bonus Crop Fertilizer in Greenville, Tx. However, I do see 16-20-10 on Site One's website. The only time I recommend a high phosphorus fertilizer is when the grass needs to recover because it helps develop the root system and fight disease. It is a one time use sort of thing. If you use a high phosphorus fert only use it again after getting your soil tested and it is determined to be deficient.

They have a 24-25-4 at home depot (Scott's Turf Builder Starter). That work?

Yes. It is just fert right? No added herbicides?

My st aug got ravaged over the past two weeks. I sprayed every square inch with Fertilome propiconazole last night. It looks like large patch fungus. Started in one area two weeks ago and I saw a couple spots pop up over the past week. This weekend it exploded and covered 75% of my back yard.
Did I use the right product? Should I spread some peat moss over the bad areas as other posters suggested?

I’m going through the same thing. Half of my backyard. Spread some peat moss about a week ago. Can start to see some st aug poking out. Going to give it a week and reassess.

If when you walk through the grass that's turning brown you stir up some small, white moth looking insects it means you have a sod web worm infestation. Ortho sells a do it yourself treatment spray to hook to your water hose to treat for sod web worm.
ETA: Now that I've read more of your thread I see you've ruled out sod web worms.

Pictures would help. Large patch gradually spreads out but the center of the circle will often start to show signs of recovery. The first week of August is a slight bit early for large patch but it very well could be. Propiconizole is a fine treatment for large patch. You can spread peat moss but make sure it is a very thin layer. Like 1/4 of an inch. Chinch bugs aren't as big of a deal in Baton Rouge as they are in Dallas but I'd rule them out.

I'll snap some picture this afternoon.
Should I be following up with any other product in the coming weeks?
I know the prop. suggests a second treatment at 14 days.

Propiconizole is normally 14-21 days. I don't think you need to follow up with any other chemicals.

So between disease ex, peat moss, talstar for moths, etc. I finally have a good bit of growth in all of my thinning and dead spots. Unfortunately its like 10% st. aug and 90% random weeds and grasses. Guess I will get that under control by next spring but for now I guess just let green grow.
Posted on 8/18/20 at 5:10 pm to LSUDbrous90
If you have some MSM you can spray the weeds.

I had a nice thick, green, St. Aug lawn. I did some river sand in the spring. Sand settled and grass grew through nicely. I been noticing with all the rain we’ve had I’m now seeing crabgrass emerging and St Aug having yellow spots. I’m frustrated.

Good to see some progress from others.
Here's my backyard update a little over 2 weeks from the OP. Nice, thick and green. It's a little thin in a few spots next to a fence, but the disease is gone. Thanks HG board for the DiseaseEx recommendation. I applied it at a curative rate. I may throw down a preventative rate application in the next couple of days.
