Is this a sign of termites?

I've seen a few little mud mounds like this in spots next to paving, usually 3 or more feet from my slab.
I have a termite contract and after inspections, they've never mentioned signs before.
If it is a sign, I may call them, but would rather not if it is obviously something else.
What say you, H&G Board?

Mess with the mound and see if you see any insects. I’d say that’s not termites. The trails I had were a lot narrower and more of a tube

My vote is for mole crickets. Looks just like the dirt spots I had on the edge of my driveway. Took a few applications of talstar but I seem to have them under control
Go outside in the evenings, you’ll know if it’s mole
Crickets. They make a very distinct chirp

Looks more like worm castings (left on surface by worms at night) or some burrowing insect's dirt balls excavated from its tunneling.

That would be my guess. Being 3 ft. from the house and in the form it is in the pic, that looks nothing like termite infestation.
Subterranean termite tunnels are fairly slim and are found on slab, pier, etc. surfaces from the soil up to where they can actually make entrance into the structure.

Termites are very easy to spot.

Looks like pinworms. Don’t really do damage but can leave a mess.
Depending on how large that hole is, could be mole crickets. Use a granular insect control.
