40v idk but the 80v is great. I have the weed eater and blower and they work just as advertised.

We have the mower at the office since it’s a small yard and didn’t want to bother with storing gas there. It’s good for small yards but I wouldn’t use it for anything more than a 1/3 acre.

If you want a solid lithium lineup go with EGO.

I have the 40v Kobalt Blower, Trimmer, Hedger and Chainsaw. They work well. I've never used 40v in another brand so I can't compare. I'm about the get the pole saw. I try to keep one brand of batteries.

I bought a bunch of Kobalt tools for a second home I used to own. Small yard. Trimmer, mower, hedge trimmer, blower. Sold that house, took the tools to my main house, and now they are my go to tools. Had them about 5 years now and the only issue I've had was one battery took a shite after a year. Took it back to Lowes and the manager told me to go get one off the shelf to replace it. I can't speak for other brands, but this line of tools has been great for me.

I have the 80v and it works well. The mower is the weakest point if you can call it that, but it still gets ~0.40 acres done without much of a problem.

I have the 40v hedge trimmer, chainsaw, and snowblower and they all have been fantastic. Chainsaw in particular has been legit. They all get significant use and have held up.

Lowes is cancelling out their Kobalt system and going with Craftsman instead. I am looking at the Ego brand for a weed eater and blower.

I used to have some. I found 40v to be pretty weak. I had problems keeping batteries charged long enough to finish my yard. It’s a small yard too. I switched back to a plug in mower and just used the batteries on weed eater and blower.

$250 battery failed on me within 3 years, and it wasn't the electronics, a bunch of the 18650 cells inside the pack failed
