I'm in Baton Rouge and South of I-10. My Allstate renewal went up 32%! Anyone else dealing with this? I always been happy with Allstate. Mayhem has never visited.

Call Insurance Network of Louisiana or another broker and have them shop it around for you. Almost guaranteed they can save you money.

Do you have an umbrella? They have gone up insanely in the last couple years.

Hmmm...umbrella insurance is typically one of the cheapest. It only hits if you've already maxed the underlying insurance which is unlikely (since there are high minimums required, namely on auto). Are we talking about the same definition of 'umbrella insurance'? It's typically $200-$250 annually per $1M in umbrella coverage...
Homeowners in my area went up around 20% after the TX freeze last year. A lot of folks recommend using an insurance broker...definitely efficient albeit I question how they get paid versus cutting out the middle man.

I'm using it in a commercial setting so maybe it's a bit different. It was explained to me that umbrellas used to almost never get hit but in the last few years they've been hit more and more. It used to be almost free money for the insurance company but that's changing.
