Hanging a porch swing advice

I don't do a ton of work around the house, but I figured I would try and hang a porch swing my wife just purchased. I bought a couple 3/8" by 4 7/8" screw eyes to hang it. It says the load limit for each is 325 lbs. Is that enough, or should I try and size up just to be sure?
Also, what size pilot hole would you recommend that I drill?
Thanks!

I'd recommend through-bolting 7/16" to 1/2" hole
Pilot? probably 3/16" to 1/4"
How much does the swing weigh? be sure to add that to the highest potential weight.
What are you screwing/bolting it into?
ETA: Through-bolting is preferred because when you add a washer and a nut on the backside, you're no longer relying on the wood to hold the weight via the tapped threads, instead, the washer can help distribute the load more evenly against the mostly solid surface of the wood

I was planning on just screwing it into the 2x6 overhead. The swing doesn't weigh much, so highest potential weight would probably be about 450lbs. I might swing back by today and see if they have any 1/2" screw eyes just to be safe.

Sweet pun.
You should be fine if the rated weight is 300lbs+ each. Just know that I'm not signing off on this unless you through-bolt it

How far is the 2x6 span?

Shouldn’t be an issue. 325 lbs is the safe working load for each. And there’s definitely a safety factor of a few x. So say you have a 75# swing and three 250# dudes on it. Just sitting is 825#. Probably won’t get much more than 1000# of force.
Note: I have this same setup on a 6’ swing in a tree and a 4’ swing screwed to a 2x6.

well each hook will hold a shared weight so at 2 hooks thats half of the load. if your hooks can hold 325 then together they hold 650 lbs.
as long as the swing and the number of people on it dont go over 650 lbs then you are good.
pilot hole should be tight so it grips well, no bigger then half diameter of screw bolt is my rule, if your screws are 3/8" i would go with 3/16" pilot bit
