Gas Edger Recommendation?

Currently have an echo weed eater (works great!), but does not have the ability to change attachments. Yes, I know I can edge with a string trimmer, but I have A LOT of sidewalk to edge every 2 weeks at multiple properties, and a bladed edge is easier to use and looks better to me.
Was looking at the ECHO PE-225, but I also saw Dewalt has an edger with a more powerful motor. Anyone have experience with either?
ECHO PE-225 21.2cc $279.00
DEWALT 27cc $199.99

I've had the Echo for years. Very good and reliable too.

I have the Echo PAS with trimmer and edger heads. Works great

the 225 is cheaper from Echo, if you can afford the 2620, get it, the head is more solid

Get what ever you want, but if you want the best edge, use two blades.
I gets you a great edge and the blades wear much less.

I may be in the minority but prefer the larger walk behind edgers with 4 wheels

Have had the echo one for 2-3 years, starts easy every time, no complaints

I bought a Masport from Bayou Repairs in Patterson a couple years ago. I've owned a few a few brands and this one outshines them all.

When I had my landscaping company I had these attachments on all my trimmers. I still have one for my personal use... I highly recommend them.

I got a McLane

I’ve had that same echo edger for years now. Never an issue. I change the blade every year. Runs like a champ and I can edge in just minutes compared to a weed eater edging or a old school edger

I know most people either don't like or it is is not practical for them to use corded electric models. I know people really like battery powered models like the EGO or gas models like the ECHO.
My next house (rural with acreage) will be that case and I will definitely go with a gas model.
But for now I use a $70 10-amp corded electric Kobalt power head with a $70 Ryobi Expand-It edger attachment. I have a 100' 14 gauge extension cord that reaches everywhere in my yard where I need to weed eat, edge, hedge, or Pole saw cut.
The power of a 10-amp corded electric power head is amazing, granted you are constrained by a power cord. The 10-amp motor generates 1.6HP which beats perhaps all of the consumer grade gas power heads in power. Take the 28cc 2-cycle Husqvarna power head. It's pretty powerful and generates 1.1 HP, a full 1/2HP less than the 10-amp Kobalt.
Not saying to use corded, but just noting how powerful they are. With the Ryobi edger attachment it edges like its cutting through butter even on the first edge of the year when you establish the edge line through dirt.
If you have a smaller yard and don't mind power cords, corded may be a good choice. The Kobalt has a 5 year warranty and basically no maintenance on the power head, plus no gas or batteries to deal with. The cost is the lowest and reliability is probably the best compared to gas and battery options. But then again there is that darn power cord! Not a big deal to me.
