I posted this on the OT, but figure better answers may come from this board.

Anybody have a recommendation / contact info for someone who can deliver a quarter cord of firewood in Baton Rouge this week? The guy I have used for years evidently has a new number and I can't get in touch with him.

Firewood Guys

I'm sure like every business, there are good reviews and bad reviews, but I personally will never use Firewood guys again.

I used them a couple years ago and they delivered wood that was SOAKED. $175 for a half cord, delivered and stacked. It was advertised as being completely dry and stored under a massive roof to protect from rain. When I got home after they delivered it, I found a half cord of stacked wood that was completely soaked.

Called to complain and I was told that it was because it had rained right before delivery. I reminded them that their website was clear that it was dry wood since it's all stored out of the elements. She then gave me a bullshite line that it rained the day of delivery. I had to correct her that it did not rain that day and that it rained the day before but that shouldn't matter since it was supposed to all be stored out of the elements. They offered to pick it up and deliver dry wood to me.

Got home the next day to new wood that was only slightly less wet than the time before. I know they replaced it with a different cord because I watched them on my cameras from work that day.

They delivered wet wood and replaced it with more wet wood. frick em, I'm no longer buying from them.

As I said, that's just my experience and I'm sure there are others who have had a good experience with them. Take it for what it's worth.

Looked at Firewood Guys and was far too expensive. I called a guy someone suggested on the OT, and he is coming tomorrow!

I was opting to go with the Firewood guys, but I found out that $297 for a 1/2 cord was high. Called James Bergeron and he's delivering 1/2 cord for $175 tomorrow. 2 2 5 - 7 1 8 - 0 2 7 1

I used to get from the Firewood Guys for cooking if I didn’t happen to be in Texas and grab some firewood. That is, until the last load I bought from them. Specifically told them I wanted all pecan, the rack only had pecan on the top. Like the other poster, my wood was soaking wet. It still had green leaves/limbs growing out of it. Never again.
