Anybody here have one they requested from entergy on their property?

I have a super long, dark driveway that has a lightpole in the middle of it that would be a pretty good spot for a security light. I see that you can request one and they will install it and charge you a small monthly fee. Anybody know what the fee is?

Price dpends on the light chosen. You can get a quote via their website. Choose the light you want and all.

$20-30/month seems about average in NOLA

Renting a light from entergy is a rip off, you would be better off in the long run having your own light put up

I have one, it’s called a night watchman light. It’s around $15 a month and it’s led and super bright.

I put up an automatic LED light that comes on from Dusk till dawn on my shop. Maybe $80 or so, works great.

I would assume there are options with small solar panel to charge for your situation but not sure.

I think you have 2 options. Traditional street light is like $8 a month. Larger one is like $15.

Its not too bad to get one from the power company. The proximity of transformer can be an issue if the transformer is by the house and not out at the street. If transformer is out by the street it should be easy for them to install. Last transformer I had to pay for was about $400.

I have one I got DEMCO to install for me that I pay $13/month for. It's on pole at the end of my driveway near the street and it lights up an enormous area.

Y’all realize you can get the lights entergy uses for $100ish? Couple hundred to get an electricians helper to hook it up, then that’s all you will ever spend?

Or rent a light from entergy and 10 years from now you have spent $3000 on a light that you don’t even own

Does Demco charge extra for the electricity? Our HOA has about 150 street lights and we just pay a set fee each month, it is about $11 per light. They also come out and replace bulbs and ballasts (our are sodium vapor) any time one goes out and there is no charge for the parts or labor. I am not suggesting you couldn't come out ahead installing your own large LED area light and maintain it but at least with our electric company, we get a lot more than just light rental for our fee. With an HOA it is different because we generally don't handle any maintenance ourselves so it is very convenient to just have one payment for full service.

I just looked at this months bill we have 167 lights and the this months bill is just over $1940 will all the fees so about $11.60 for each one.
