Dead patches on new Zoysia sod

We installed new Zoysia sod about 8 weeks ago. Most of the yard looks good, but there are about 15 patches that look to be dead, and more and more seem to be popping up. The patches are all circles, about 1 foot in diameter. Anyone have any suggestions? The patches are mainly happening in the area that gets the least sunlight, we are having a tree removed that should resolve that issue somewhat.

Yep, we pick up after each poop, but should we not let her pee in the yard for a while?

My dogs kill my Zoysia anytime they pee on it. Same with Centipede so I try and have them go towards the back of my lot because it’s a few hundred feet deep.
I put Zoysia around my pool area and try to keep the dogs off but it doesn’t always work

Not a lawncare expert by any means, but I put down zoysia sod a few weeks ago as well and having the same problem. I've presumed it's my dogs peeing on it. Just keep watering when you see them pee to dilute it. It's come back fine for me and hasn't spread like it was a disease or something worse.

Great to know, thanks for the heads up

Don’t take out a perfectly good shade tree (if that’s what it is) solely for the sake of green grass.

Yep- my dog’s piss is the best zoysia grass herbicide around. If you let him/her pee in your grass your should rinse it off with water if you don’t want dead spots.

Dog pee will burn the zoysia, but its also going to come back darker and greener than the rest of your grass if you haven't fertilized.
