Looking for some advice.

I'm liking the Igan Generator covers because of their ease to fill with a 5 gallon gas can.
My mobile Generac 8000 has a CO2 sensor and will shut off when necessary. I'm curious as to how these covers effect that.

Why do you feel the need to cover it? It's only "out" i assume when in use.

True
I recall Laura being without power 10 days and it rained during that time, too. You're dealing with electricity which doesn't bode well with water.

I would not run a generator covered up like that in 90+ degree Louisiana heat.

If you sre using it at the house, I would go very simple.

After Ida, I made a "house" out of conduit and a tarp to keep the rain off. Worked like a charm.

If I'm running mine outside, for an extended period in bad weather, I plan to just use a pop up tent like at a tailgate.

Makeshift generator shelter supplies were bountiful after Laura. Section of neighbor’s fence to get generator out of grass, couple sawhorses from destroyed shop, another section of neighbor’s fence, mirror from gutted bathroom on top.

I’ve been considering a gen tent.

STB, I was looking at the GenTent also. The Igan seems better to fill generator with gas. GenTent seems difficult to do that.
I'm now thinking of placing an old fold up card table over the generator (when a cover is necessary) with a bag of sand on top to keep table in place.

Sounds like a page out of a horror novel or movie.

But I can relate. For Ida, a contractor grabbed some boards from my neighbor’s downed fence to install a tarp on my roof way before FEMA’s blue roof program showed up.
