When renovating landscape beds at the house a couple years ago, I found that Plant Tech on Old Jefferson near Barringer Forman road sold very nice azaleas about 1/3 less than Cleggs, LA Showplace, etc but their other woody shrubs were priced comparable to the other independent retail nurseries. And yes, if the box stores have what you are looking for they will be cheaper than the independent retail nurseries.
