I know its been posted before, but the search feature did not provide the results I was looking for. Centipede/St Aug lawn application. How many grams per gallon?

I think I mixed 3g/gallon and I'm seeing significant effects on the good grass. Not killing it, but severely stunting growth.

I took a 1 week beach trip and the buttonweed fairy came visit while I was away. Gotta spot treat, but want to do it right. Thanks in advance.

Should be about the correct amount if it's over the proper SF.

I fill mine to the .017 per gallon on the measurement cup it comes in. Works for me

This is completely unofficial, but I asked the guy at Site One for something different then Celsius so I don’t over use it and he laughed at me. He said a residential user isn’t going to use too much unless you are spraying all the time. Idk? I most ‘spot spray’ but there are areas that are like 10x10 with multiple weeds I just spray the whole area.

You do want to use a sticker/ surfactant with it though.

I just spot applied to doveweed at 0.226 OZ per 2 gallons per the label. This is considered a high rate. It'll stunt the hell out of St Aug but the Centipede doesn't seem to mind it much.

Per this boards advice I measured with a coke scale and used a fan tip to apply. I walked at a normal pace and sprayed when I went over the weeds. I think most of my problems before were from overapplying, I treated it like round up and would soak the hell out of whatever I was spot treating. It's been a week since applying, keeping my fingers crossed that I didn't screw up.

That rate is fine especially if you're just spot spraying.

I typically use the medium rate if I'm going to broadcast spray(2.4g per 1000sq ft) just to be on the safe side. But if buttonweed is your main weed to control then you need the higher rate. I always get some yellowing and stunting for a couple of weeks when I use the higher rate at this time of the year. Also have to make sure your light on the spot spraying, you don't need douse the weeds for effect.

Mix medium rate celsius with sulfentrazone and it will kill about anything but torpedo.

Celsius label LINK. The answer to your questions are printed on the Celsius label, p. 2 under the sections “Spot” and “Turf Tolerance”, and for VBW 3.2 g/gal for spot spraying with repeat application at 2-4 weeks if necessary (p. 5).

Thanks for the feedback. I have been "soaking" the weeds instead of lightly spraying them. The St Aug is catching more hell than the centipede.

I'm probably mixing correctly, but maybe oversaturating the areas with weeds. Will correct and report back the results.

Very likely - I’ve been there, done that, and I suspect most others have. Very easy to overspray when spot spraying. LOL

I have a Celsius mix rate posted under one of these threads. You don’t soak. It’s a fan tip nozzle held at knee height and walking at 2.8 mph. I use the term spot spray out of habit but what you actually want to do is zone spray. Walk towards to weed like normal, start spraying before the weed, stop spraying after. Spot spraying make folks hover over the weed and hose it down.
