Best type of window to serve through??

We have a 36"x36" window above our kitchen sink that goes out to our back porch. Have a simple old single hung window there now. We are planning on upgrading but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for a different type of window that would make sense for serving food/drinks through? Something that would be easier and quicker to open and close. Any other options? Tia
