Best stain for an outdoor table?

Watched a couple videos and from what I can tell, a deck stain would actually be my best bet. One guy tried Minwax stain and spar urethane and said in a few years it's a huge pain in the arse to resand and touch up.
Was thinking of going to pick up some Thompson's WaterSeal and be done with it. Good idea?

Most deck stains are crap, so if you love your table choose wisely.
What's your main concern? Water, UV damage, or just beauty?
What type of wood?
TWP, ReadySeal, and Restore-A-Deck are my go-to brands.

Water and beauty mostly. It's in a pretty shaded spot but it'll get rained on.
It's made of pine
If a Minwax stain + clear coat is a better option, that'd actually save my money since i have some on hand already. Just didn't know what was the best route to take.

If the table is outdoors and uncovered, it’s going to get absolutely hammered. Any finish you put on it other than basically paint or highly pigmented deck stain is going to be a huge pain in the arse to keep up.
Is this treated pine? Heart pine?

Do not use Minwax stain outdoors. It will fade. Regardless of topcoat.
Cabot, Ready-Seal, TWP, Super Deck and Woodscapes from Sherwin-Williams are supposed to be good.

The best product I found for a top coat on outdoor stuff is Jack Tar marine varnish. I have it on my front doors and cypress columns.
I get it from a place in Delcambre La. It is mainly used on wooden shrimp boats.

Cabot Australian Timber Oil. Lowe's carries it. Make sure you get the type with the black label. The white label cans are not the same and are what the bad reviews are usually on. Those cans are made to adhere to the regulations of liberal states and is not the same product.

This is the answer. Nothing will last very long. If you want the best, Epifanes.

Yep, it’s fighting a losing battle.
Epifane’s is fantastic. I built the cedar table below and finished it with 6 coats. It lasted a little over a year before the elements got to it. I sanded down and did it again; didn’t even last a year that time. I’m not doing that shite every year. Once I’m done with a few projects, I’m going to sand it down and hit it with some Arborcoat.

What he said ??
I do this professionally. Go Lowe’s and get a Cabot stain product. Or go to Sherwin Williams and get their WoodScapes product.
Do NOT use Thompson’s. It’s cheap and will last maybe 6 months.

Appreciate all the responses guys. I ended up getting a Cabot stain. Will update once I get it done.

Keep my suggestion about Jack Tar close by. When the Cabot looks bad in a year you will be asking the same question again.
I used Cabot and wasn't satisfied.

Cedar shield then stain on top. People will think you’re a wizard and know magic.

What’s everyone’s experience with TWP stains for use on outdoor chairs and tables?
