No, you just can’t put batteries and paint in the Landfill. Does anyone know where you can drop off paint or old batteries in the Baton Rouge area?

Thanks in advance.

Battery any auto parts store. Paint, load it up with kitty litter. Once it is dry you can toss it in the regular trash.

Put it in the EBR recycle trashcan.
Put next to street.

They pick them up and sling them so fast by the time they realize what was in it, they’re four houses down and just keep going.

It works.

batteries you can sell, they have core charge value and are exchangeable for money

old paint can just be thrown in the garbage can if you open the lid and let it completely dry into a hard lump

I dumped two gallons on a pile of oak leaves today.

Will scoop it up tomorrow and throw in trash, or mulch it with mower.

The intermittent stream down below the house is my go-to spot.

That, or I use them to fill in 4 wheeler ruts.

Just make sure it's intermittent and not perennial, otherwise that's bad for the environment.

Put cat litter in your old paint can and make it dry up. I didnt know what to do with a bunch of old cans when i moved into a new house. I looked up on my trash supplier site stating that was ok to do

Pasted:

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE
HOW TO DISPOSE OF HAZARDOUS WASTE
MATERIAL GENERATED BY A HOUSEHOLD
?
The following items do not need to be brought to the hazardous waste facility for disposal or recycling:

LATEX PAINT
Please DO NOT bring latex paint to the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility! Latex paint does not contain hazardous materials. It is pigment and water. Please dispose of latex paint at home if your container holds half or less of the original volume. First, remove the top of the can and allow the paint to dry out, or mix with sawdust or cat litter to solidify the paint before disposal in your regular household trash. Leave lid off and discard container in garbage. Your garbage hauler will accept these only if the lid is removed. If you are unable to dry out a mostly full container, we will accept it at the facility.

Your city or parish likely takes it or has someone that does. You can contact the city works dept.

Paint as said simply dry it. You can use kitty litter or hardware stores sell a specialty chemical that dries it but it’s pricey like $5 per gallon.

Batteries as said usually auto parts stores accept them.
