Is $2 per linear foot a decent price? I would have to have the baseboards painted. The $2 is to cut and install them

DIY that if you’re talking a lot of rooms.

$2 a foot adds up quickly and baseboards are not that difficult.

I paid .75/ft for 1/4 round to be painted and installed a few months ago. That quote was from a few different contractors.

Not sure if that helps with your calculations

OP, $2 a foot? Are they supplying everything? If not, screw that. Hell, I will come in and do that for $1.50.

Wow. That sounds really high unless you're planning on multiple layers of molding.

I've run crown in one home at $85/LF, personal home of a local electrical contractor. New construction it's based on square feet under-roof with add-on charge for 2-step, 3-step, etc. Running trim isn't difficult but most DIY'ers do a crappy job of it, somebody willing to do it for $2/LF flat is pretty cheap.

Guess a good reason as to why one pays $800 for a saw.

$2/LF is pretty common for crown from what I was quoted. That’s per run, so if it’s triple crown, that’s $6/LF.

Base is a hell of a lot easier. Is it a one piece molding? Does it includes 1/4 round? Is it flat trim or does it have some kind of design?
