At their house, that calculates rain totals, wind, etc in addition to temps? I have one, but it’s too damn far away from the main unit and it always losing connection. I’d like one that I can pull up on my phone but I don’t know if there are any out there with the needed Bluetooth range for me.

I would like one but they are way too expensive to justify such a useless expense.

I have a simple Oregon Scientific one with temperature and a rain guage. It's at least 6 years old now. I really like it for the rain totals. Got 2.95" of rain at my house last night.

Sounds like you need to get one that connects via wifi.

My pops has an AcuRite. It has worked pretty flawlessly for him.

If I were to get one I'd go cheaper with an Ambient Weather Station.

I don't think my wifi would reach. I might just need to relocate it.

I am on my second ambient weather station the first was knocked out by a hail storm. mine is about 75 feet from monitor in house and works fine over wifi. I also hook it into weather underground.

Davis is another brand that makes quality stations.

I've used Accurite stations for years and replaced every single one of them because after a couple years they just flunk out.

Last year I finally bit the bullet and bought a professional grade Davis VantagePro 2 station. It's amazingly accurate. I have the anemometer mounted at 33' above the surface but it is blocked somewhat by trees about 75' away so the wind readings are usually about 10mph lower than the actual speeds. Temperature, humidity, dewpoint, wind chill, heat index, and rainfall are on point though.

I have Google WiFi so I have zero issues with wifi signal across my home and property and never lose the signal from the station.

I'm 100% satisfied with the purchase but it wasn't cheap.

How far of a distance?

Also, with many of these, the station sends a signal via RF to the base inside, which then is connected to wifi.

Just got one for the camp. works pretty well and with wi-fi, I can monitor weather from afar.

I have an old Ambient Weather WS-900-IP that works well except for wind readings. There is an ambient phone app that works ok but I used a weather underground app that had a 2x2 widget I could put on my phone homescreen to quickly see the temp. But weather underground just changed their policies and the widget doesn't work anymore. Weather Underground has basically become dogshit the past few months.

You ain’t kidding about that. I think I’d pay for the app to have the old system back. Hate when these IT wonder geeks “fix” things that ain’t broke.
