Have zoysia and killing weeds has left bare spots. Thinking about just over seeding the yard with zoysia seed, anyone done this ?

What type of zoysia do you have? There’s not many natively seeded cultivars, so it may not match perfectly. However, if you baby the seed and prep correctly, it should work fine.
Also, I haven’t seen any zoysia seed variety available this year.

Check out a pro plugger to fill in the spots

Zenith is the only commercially developed zoysia seed. Plugging the bare spots with plugs from you exiting turf would be your best bet.

I've been using one to try and get st aug in the nightmare of a yard the previous owner of my home left me. It's working well.
Old pic from when I started. I've been putting a couple hundred plugs a week in a couple of different areas.
