Any harm in going too large on a ceiling fan?

I have a 54 in high degree fan that decoded to finally die after running 24/7 for 21 years.

Can't find another with similar blade angle in that size. Found one in a 70in.

But the room is only 13x16

If it’s too big, the fan blades will hit the wall

But seriously, if it’s too big, the air won’t have enough room to circulate air. 70 seems too big for a room that size.

I think its 18" from fan to wall for proper circulation.

I'm no expert but would your issue not just arise on a faster setting? Like it maybe too big for being fast, but if its set at slow to move less air I don't see the issue?

The biggest issue I'd imagine is even at low it will move a lot of air for a little room?

That's too big. they do have 60" fans as well. the ones that Home Depot carries (Home Decorators or something like that) put out extraordinary amounts of air. a buddy has one and all my larger rooms will be getting them when i replace. gotta buy light kit separate, but still not too high a price. Great looking too

In doing research, lowes sells one with a huge degree blade. So much so that they require a minimum 12 inch drop to even function.

CFMs are over 5k

So I bought the highest 54in they had 3900ish. In taking the old one down... Still had the sticker on the back. Rated for 6700ish.

Oh well.
