Any good recommendation for a dishwasher that does a half way decent job of drying?

Wash at night, leave dishwasher open the next day

My Samsung pops open after cycle and blows hot air for about 15 minutes.
It kind of works.

I purchased a KitchenAid Model KDTE204GPS0 a couple years ago. Does a good job of drying - no complaints. The Tupperware plastic type items may not be 100% dry when placed in the upper rack. Anything glass or metal will be dry.

My dish washer does a crappy job drying on it’s own but the manual suggests adding jet dry to a secondary reservoir and included a small sample. It works well enough that I continue to buy it every time it runs out.

We use JetDry and also run the hot water at the sink before turning the dishwasher on. Helps to make sure you are washing with hot water and not cold/luke warm water.

I also always use Jet Dry and the optional Hi-Temp Heat (water) setting. I just noticed my dishwasher also has an Extended Heat Dry setting option but I don’t recall ever using using it - maybe I should try it to see if it dries the plasticware 100%.

my kitchenaid does fine, minus the items that are concaved and collect water, like the underside of some cups. It has an extended heat dry and we use the rinse aid sometimes too.

Also have a Bosch. I use the extra dry setting but also when I bought it they suggested opening it so the steam can escape when the cycle finishes. Just stick a dish towel in to keep it open or something. We usually run it at night and it is fine in the morning even if we don’t do that, but if we wait all the way until after work the water has collected back in the dishes again.

I have a Whirlpool and it always dries the dishes completely when we remember to put the Jet Dry stuff in.

The drying works, it's just that all the humid air inside condenses on the plates.
Also, plastics with all their non-smooth grooves tend to hold a lot of moisture.

Several manufacturers offer an extended dry option on certain models. My whirlpool wdt750sahz will still steam your eye glasses if you have it set to extended dry and open the door during the dry cycle.

If you’re buying jet dry make sure to get the drying aid and not the rinse aid. Makes a difference.

Thanks for that tip. Honestly didn’t know there was a difference. I’ve been using the rinse aid. I’ll try the drying aid.
