Advice and install tips on engineered floors

Had some water damage in my home last week and will be replacing my living room and small hallway with new engineered floors, ~400ft2.
Do y’all have any tips or tricks when installing? How much extra should I buy for waste in a DIY job, 10%?

10% for cutting loss. Let the wood sit in the house about a week to acclimate prior to installing.
