Took a week off after Strongville.
W1D1 DB strength. I should have known better but I did not expect it to be as challenging as it was. Not nearly as hard as strongville but those wall sits day 1 shot my legs. Did enjoy the change of pace though. Looking forward to this program over the next few weeks

Pump city day 5 status report: deadlifting on a smith machine was no good, but we could do meadows rows heavy AF using the Cybex seated calf machine. I could bent over row on the smith machine heavy and it felt great; my son has longer legs and was having trouble staying bent over properly. This old guy on the treadmill was like “what in Tarnation is going on” as we clang and banged barbell rows on the smith machine haha.
After 5 straight days of Pump City, it’s pretty clear we are now “the two big dudes who use the gym then go to the hot tub” to everyone on staff.

Arm Farm W2D1 finished. Had to skip day 4 last week, but hope to finish strong this week. Skipping leg work due to injury though.

Completed day 9 of pump city. The leg routine is brutal on my old arse. Completely spent by the time i got to the kb goblet squats. Oh and still say RFESS were invented by the devil himself.

Those RFESS get me too. The dumbbell RDLs get my hamstrings way more than deadlifts. I end up hobbling around the gym after I’m done.

W6D2 of Grasshopper complete
Looking at today's lifts and comparing them to my notes from week 1, wow there's a difference. Squat for example, I completed 2 sets of 5 today at a weight that I struggled getting 3 reps at week 1.
When I started grasshopper, it was the first time I've touched weights since high school (~20yrs ago). Those first 2 weeks were rough. I didn't have a good idea on starting weights, correct form, nor was I used to compound motion/muscle use. To say walking up my stairs at home (those first 2 weeks) hurt is putting it lightly.
Now about 6 weeks later my arms and legs feel like jello when leaving the gym, but the whole body soreness is gone.

Pump city day 6: the amrap squats destroyed us. Rest day tomorrow is well earned

W2D2 21 to party done. Slept in this morning and did it in an over crowded gym.
I overestimated the 3x21 BB OHP. I put 25s on and my shoulders were screaming.

I feel like I’d go with just bar to start. That’s a lot of ohp.

So I had kettlebell mile tonight on rebuilt, defranco prescribes 10% bodyweight in each hand, so that’s a goal for y’all doing it as conditioning

I had 20% in one hand last time. I was gonna do it again tomorrow so I’ll try a 20 in each hand.

Is this what is sounds like? Jogging a mile with a kettlebell ~10% of your body weight in each hand?
