Slightly softer Ping. I like the way they look more than anything

Friend who posts here occasionally bought some last year. Loves them, I’ve never hit them. He had a custom fitting and got a really good deal.

The PXG 0811 XF Gen 2 Driver is on sale right now for $295 on their website.

Really good deal for a club that is normally $600.

I picked up the 0211s... they are the progressive set that are cast when the sale started at $95 a club. I love them, my ball flight is way better and my misses are straighter... shorter than before but straighter. Hitting them flush feels phenomenal... at least to me.

One of the guys in my group has them and I had hit them along side my Pings. Same distance and ballflight for me, but I hit every club high.

I really can't say anything special about them, but I don't see anything wrong with them.

Would I buy them ? Probably not and not because of the price. I just like other irons better.

Noted Club Ho Charles Howell III didn't care for them LOL !

For me,

Cast Irons - Ping
Forged Irons - Mizuno

Really good price on the gen 2 irons right now. I've got 0211 irons and at that price it's tempting. I might pull the trigger on the Proto driver.

Hit them at a fitting a couple of years ago and hated them. But, clearly a good club just player dependent like all clubs.

Pointless to buy them if you dont go thru their extensive fitting. If they were significantly better than the other OEMs out there, then I think more unsigned pros would play them.

Unless you're catching the exact same spot on the club face every time, I doubt most will notice much difference.

I have owned several sets, they all feel the same when nutted, the profiles are a little clunky unless you go with the T’s.

I ordered a set of 0211's about a month ago from PXG directly because of the heroes pricing special going on right now. A brand new set of PXG irons for about $750? I had to at least take chance. Without testing or hitting any prior to ordering, I got the 0211's with the True Temper Elevate Tour stiff shafts, standard specs. I hit a few of them on the range and fricking hated them. They felt cheap and flemsy. Ball flight was too low and I was a full club shorter on each club. Called PXG and sent em right back for a return. I imagine the 0311's are much better irons but still didn't want to spend the $$ on those.

I need to accept that nobody can beat Mizuno irons
Now I'm looking to get a set of 919 forged with my return money to upgrade from my current 919 hot metal.

You can get them for around $1200 right now. I got fitted for a set of 0311 gen 2 irons a couple months back and love them. Very smooth and long. Love the ball flight, lower than my old irons, but that's probably more to do with the shaft I was fitted for.

With the price where it is currently at I think they're as good a value as anything out there. That said I don't think they're significantly better than other major manufacturers so I wouldn't be able to justify the $3k price point.

I got it in the x version but haven’t gotten a chance to hit it yet, it’s been too hot. It’s supposed to dip down to a high of 98 Saturday so I’ll get a chance to hit it. Looks great though and feels really light.

I love mine. Bought on sale here about 2 months ago. They have helped me tremendously (at least 8-10 yds) per iron. I played TM 790’s before with OBAN shafts so its not like I had a inferior old set of clubs and that’s the reason why the distance increase.

I’ve hit all their offerings at fittings

2-3 yards longer than my Srixons and a little less dispersion, not worth the price tag. The Gen 3’s are sexy, their wedges are beauties.

0211’s are hot garbage

I saw in golf magazine that they have a new wedge for 650.00....

Unbelievable how gullible the golf public is, including me sometimes.
