Not in the PGA Field either.
He had a bad time at the Zurich and walked off.
Is he injured or something more serious.

Many golf media types have alluded to his mental health, but no one has come out and been specific.
He's young, rich, and living by himself in Florida being from California. A weird time for your life to change that much

Wouldn't be surprised if he has a knee injury with his swing

I watched most of his round Thursday at the Zurich. Morikowa was pretty much playing by himself. It was pretty ugly.

I would imagine if something was just slightly off with his swing everything would become unraveled.

I've thought the same thing. Wolfe got all the hype coming out of OK state rather than Hovland. Hovland is an absolute killer on tour, he is a T10 machine. I was initially intrigued by his swing and how pure of a ball striker he was, and he silenced people who doubted he would ever win on tour very quickly at the 3M. However, with that erratic of a move that relies so much on proper feel and proper body movement (all the George Gangkas stuff), it seems that his move has finally caught up to him. When he starts hitting it sideways that is no good for him, because he is one of the worst short game players on the tour and a very below average putter.

Positive strokes gained around the green and postitve strokes gain putting the last 2 years

He is 203rd in strokes gained around the green and 200th in strokes gained off the tee. Who cares if he is 63rd in strokes gained putting if all those putts are scrambling for par? That doesn't win tournaments. The point I was trying to make is that the way he is hitting it this season (159th SG Tee to Green) is that unless he is a world class short game player and putter he is pretty much a non factor for the foreseeable future.

You called him a below average putter.
All the person who responded to you said was that he isn’t a below avg putter.
Wolff has had a very solid career so far considering he’s 22. PGA tour win, and two top 5s in majors including a runner up. Just needs to get back right mentally and physically. Kid has all the talent in the world.

Yeah and I think his swing works better than some think. Sure it’s weird looking but if you run through the mechanics it’s simple and makes a lot of sense. I don’t think his swing is the issue, sounds like he has some demons, hoping he gets better.
ETA: just watched a comparison video of his swing from 2019 vs 2021, back swing looks slower and not as much zip. So guess he has that going on as well.

JT has made 17 of 21 cuts in majors he's played in and won one

I’ve said it for a long time that Wolfe’s swing just wasn’t likely to hold up to intense pressure and competition on the tour. Too much timing required and changes of direction etc…. I hope I’m wrong but it seems to be coming out that way. Hope he can fix it though.

I've been a big defender of Wolff since watching him play at the US Junior in 2017. Kid has so much talent and game, like most of these guys. He'll be just fine.
I can definitely see the mental side being his crutch. Kind of an odd dude based off what's show of him since being on tour. Could see how he doesn't mesh well. I know some people early on were worried about the pressure getting to him as his family was funded from an early age and he knew he had some people to support other than himself.

No clue about his personal life, but that swing reroute and plane change, a 1,2,3 swing I call it, just has to be perfect to pull off. Too many things going on. Go Phil!
