Having trouble with a bad hook. I believe my wrists are rolling too much during the swing but haven't worked with a camera. Any tips to keep the club face square in the impact zone?

If it's not that, are you shifting your weight correctly? If I reverse shift that often results in a terrible duck hook from the tee. I often combine that with over swinging as well.

Body stalling due to open clubface forcing you to flip at it would be my first guess.

Maybe you could follow through higher and down the line rather than around?

At least you are hooking the ball. Slicing is worthless. If you are hookIn, Eventually you can play.

Swing plan and take away are key IMHO.

according to Trevino, you can talk to a fade and scream at a hook but only the fade will listen...

Without losing posture (falling out of the shot) get your hips through faster. If your hips clear properly and your plane isn’t crazy over the top, it’s almost impossible hook it

Make sure all your weight is on your front foot in the downswing.

Don’t start the downswing with your arms

Don’t get too flat in the backswing

Move ball up in your stance

Slow everything down

Could be anyone of these things jerking you back right before impact causing the clubhead to whip around and close.

Is the ball just bending in with a decent flight or are you straight up duck hooking? I fought a bad duck hook for half of last year. The fix? Had to clear my hips through the swing. What helped me do that was to take the club back straight off the ball without coming under the plane and then starting the downswing with a hip rotation. It also helped to think about rotating my body through the entire swing including follow through.

Two things I did when I started hooking the ball was to weaken the grip a tad and make sure I took the club back a touch outside.

A common problem to cause a hook is an “outside” down swing which is often caused by not getting your hips out of the way. Just try to concentrate on bringing your downswing back into your hip

Poor guy. Everyone just throwing shite at the wall to see if it sticks.

Go get a little lesson, make sure they put you on track man. You’re probably swinging from inside to outside. You just need to get more down the line.

FYI all decent players battle the hook.
