quote:The very next paragraph, dumbass:
Right and most of those are not playing on courses.

The number of people who played on a golf course for the first time in 2017 increased for the fourth straight year

Which is why I said most of the growth was not on course because, you know, they weren't.

Rusty: Bad players don't want to play golf anymore
Truth: Bad players playing golf on a course have increased over the last 4 years
Rusty: Yeah well, there's an even bigger increase off the course.

GE's revenue also increased last year and they may declare bankruptcy this year. Are you able to comprehend complex concepts or is combining multiple sources of information to hard for you?

Those are facts. You have yet to provide any backup evidence that bad golfers are leaving the sport, much less for the reason this fake news is attributed to: penalty areas.

Take the L, Rusty.

Deflect away, Rusty.

I agree with a lot of what you’re saying. I just think there is a little bit of a better way to get that across.
A large problem IMO is that the average person looks at what players want or like and think that means they should feel the same. A good example is when they put that center line bunker at the 12th at TPC Boston, but it made the players uncomfortable because they had to think about their tee shot and what they wanted to do.
The players complained and got the bunker removed. If that same style bunker was in Europe they’d be fine with it.

Same with Trinity Forrest last year. The Tour is so spineless its sad

They even slowed it down too. Kuchar was complaining on one of the par 3 tee shots that he couldn’t basically land it right at the hole and would have had to think strategically about where to play his shot.
Royal Melbourne could be the same way, but it’s expected going in. The PGA tour has so many soft courses that a lot of the guys don’t enjoy when it changes and I think that’s an issue.

They don't enjoy it because it's harder and makes you think more. I get it from their perspective, they want to be able to fire right at pins and play as "thoutless" as possible because of the money involved, but the job of the Tour should be to create the best product and not bend over backwards to the players.

No, it should not be a major.
The field is there because of the purse but the better players hate the course. It is manufactured and not worthy.

I think it was trending in that direction. If not a major, it is definitely a level above every other tour spot.
But with the move to March, it is going to lose a lot of steam and fall back to the pack. It’s a secondary story at best this weekend and will be overshadowed by all of the conference tournaments.
I hate this move. The Players is one of my favorite tournaments and really thought it was in an ideal spot in May.

But.... But.... But the mouth pieces of the Tour said it was the greatest thing since sliced bread

You said the players love it multiple times.
Posted on 3/14/19 at 8:48 am to ell_13
I think we all agree it shouldn't be a Major. Can we just end this?
Posted on 3/14/19 at 12:24 pm to lsupride87
how can you be so obtuse, my point you simpleton is jack ain’t winning another major but someone (cough tiger) could catch jack’s record by increasing the opportunities even if you credit jack with his player’s wins, all in an effort by the pga to create excitement and increase viewership in order to generate more revenue from advertisers, attendees and viewers...

The majors wish their finish were this good.

I’m so out on this idea and don’t understand what the tour’s fascination is with making this tournament the same level as the other 4 majors.
PGA Tour’s event. Largest purse in golf. Most difficult field as well.
Has all the makings of a major from that perspective.

It is an awesome tournament. I love it. It just shouldn’t be a major.
