I signed a purchase agreement with that restaurant on canal that looks like a swimming pool in June. 6 months by my count.

Carter is strait trash compard to La Tour. Course wise. Played Jason Ards tourney there and was really disappointed in the courses condition.

Annnd there it is. This is just not true at all and comments like this are why I was so underwhelmed.

Only played there once a couple years ago but it was nice and a fun course. Definitely would like to go back

Yes it is. I’m not knocking the neighborhood or facilities but Carters course was in lousy shape when I played it, compared to LT. it was garbage by comparison. It’s nothing personal, just my observation. Like yours about La Tour.

And if it’s gotten better- great. But it wasn’t when I was there.

I’ve been playing at Carter for the past 10 years at least. In that time, the course has never been garbage. This past year, the course has been in some of the best shape I’ve seen it in, minus the bunkers.

Didn’t say they didn’t count. I said they weren’t in the best shape I’ve seen them in.

I haven’t been playing much but Bayou Oaks South yesterday was in great shape with the weather we have had as of late.

I just took over operations there. Give me about 3-6 months and it will be one of the best public courses in LA.

It lost 400k last year and has likely done worse this year. Didn’t it come close to closing? Did the commission pick a management company?

I won't discuss specific numbers, as that's uncouth. I will say, you'd be surprised at how little money most courses do make. That being said, a lot of public courses owned by the city/parish/whatever are definitely in the red. It's an amenity for those entities and it's citizens.

I doubt it ever closes because it's tied to Kemper Williams' name. They still operate a philanthropy fund out of NOLA that has plenty of money if things were to really nosedive.

The money is public knowledge in a yearly report given to the commission.

And yeah, brec is constantly in the red. But 400k is big time for a place with a smaller tax base.

Good luck. Love the layout of that course.

Fair enough on the report.

It has great potential. 7500 yds from the tips. Definitely a Von Hagge design.

And thanks! Give me some time and I'll be happy to host a get together for y'all.
