Yesterday I must have shanked 20 golf balls during warmup.
I played because we were guests at another club.
I did not shank on the course. I played OK.
I could not hit the ball in warmup.
Why do shanks show up and then disappear or reappear?

When mine show up and then go away as quickly it's usually because I'm picking my head up too soon.
When they stay longer, it's usually some combination of things

I find its usually because you are rushing knowing you only have so much time on the range before the round starts.
Also a lot of times you get complacent at the range and you aren't going through your full pre shot routine like you are on the course.

Were you just swinging at the ball or aiming at a target? I realize you aim at something probably, but sometimes on the range I find I’m just swinging. Like someone else said, go through each shot like you would on the course.

You mofos sure throw the “S” word around indiscriminately on this board. The preferred nomenclature is the “low fades”

Amen, OP:
1) quit throwing around the “s” word
2) keep your head down
3) Club back toward your right hip
4) try to pinch one right
It will come around

This. That word needs to be respected.
It is the most unexplainable phenomenon in sports. It comes and goes as it pleases, mainly as a cold cruel joke.
