Keep the ball in the fairway, hit greens, and make as many putts as possible
ETA: I don’t remember posting this at all. I just looked this place up; it looks amazing. I want to get out there and play based on the pictures.

It is really one of the prettiest courses in the state. Unfortunately, the condition is always shite when I play out there though. Hopefully they’ve actually started putting a little money into it.

Fun course but a few goofy holes

Enjoy your hybrid off the tee on a par 5

A lot of “target golf” holes. Make sure you’re hitting it straight off the tee

I have always liked the course layout. It used to be a very challenging course that was kept in fairly good shape. When it first opened the rough was BRUTAL!! If you hit your ball in the 4"-5" rough you were likely not going to find it.

The last few years it seems to have gone down hill a bit. I played it last Summer and the greens were in terrible shape. Some were basically big mud pies with very little grass on them.

A buddy (that was with the group last year) played a few weeks ago and said it was better than last year but still not in great shape.

The scenic views are always excellent.

Played a few weeks ago. They really need a Weed management program and also they need to take some trees down around tee boxes. Doing that would really help with the grass.

The greens were not very good and very very bumpy and sandy. Like others have said, cool course and layout.

Seems as though every time I have been there, the biting flies are absolutely horrible. Be prepared with plenty insect repellant...

Played last Sunday. Greens are incredibly terrible. Beautiful course though.

Such a pretty course
Couple Mickey Mouse holes I don’t like and greens suck but Toledo bend makes it gorgeous to me.

Played 36 today. Fun layout, must commit to hit the lay ups. The second 18 went a whole lot better by not trying to over power the course. Greens were in poor shape but I still had a good time.

That place is sucking all the money out of the SRA (Sabine River Authority) and Sabine parishes coffers. Park site 15 is in horrible condition as are roads to most campsites. Sabine parish has more state parks than Vernon and Beauregard parishes combined. And they just closed one down in Sabine parish.

Greens are in awful shape. Other than that it is a fun course with the some pretty holes.
